Show us a great April Fools' Day joke.
I actually believed this at first.
I've been whingeing about the Questions of the Day since I started on Vox yet felt quite a kick in the guts when they announced they were going to finish today. They even recommended that Voxers take one last chance to answer the QotD and Vox Hunt. Then I noticed what the questions were and the penny finally dropped.
So this is one April Fools' Day joke, Vox Hunt and QotD that I think was particularly well done. Bravo Vox you cunning, tricky, funny little bastards!
(Being in a different time zone doesn't help. I had to think a bit to determine if the Vox team would still be on April 1 since we've moved onto April 2 already here. So now not only can I whinge about Vox's northern hemisphere centred ways, I can now complain about their discrimination against different time-zones as well.)
Show us your favorite winter-inspired craft.
I don't know about 'craft'... it's more of a hobby. My favourite winter inspired hobby would have to be writing smart-arse answers to all those Vox questions that arrive in that season about summer. Because you see it's a bit irritating to get summer related questions when you're in the middle of winter. Yet we get them all the time. It's just as annoying, in fact, as getting winter related questions in summer. Which it is here at the moment in the Southern Hemisphere. Remember us, Vox? The other half of the planet?
Screw winter crafts. I'm off down the beach.

Which one? I am a messy person. EVERY drawer to me is a junk drawer. And so are most surfaces.

The YouTube version I'm posting here is an Oasis cover, but I remember hearing this song all the time when I was growing up (the original was by Brian & Michael but I couldn't find a good enough video on YouTube of it). Mum was from 'up North' and she really missed home all the time I was growing up, so this almost became an anthem in our household. I think my sister and I were the only kids in Australia who knew this song word for word!
Books: Show us a great children's book.
That's easy. Diary of a Wombat. My mum, sister and I saw this in the bookshop of the National Gallery of Victoria and we all fell in love with it. I went out and bought it as soon as I could afford it. The illustrations are gorgeous and it is funny and oh-so accurate about the not-so-secret nature of wombats. I also love the story on the author's website about the inspiration behind the book.
