The getting into gear of the arse: Part II

I think it's adorable and i'm lovin the barbie pink, but then i'm in a pink phase at the moment. since you're an artist/designer is it it possible that a more neutral background will frame your work better?

re news vs blog, why not call it blog and then create another page later for if you feel the need for a separate section on news or tutorials or whatever?

I'ts beautiful! Very striking!
I agree with your comment about a neutral design framing the artwork better. My current site was built around that principle. It's mostly white space and quite minimalist so that the art really stands out... but after staring at it for two years I got bored! I'll see what I can do in the next week with changing the saturation and hues to see if I can create a similar impact with a more subdued colour scheme.

Thanks for your input!

This pink phase must be going around... I've been in it for some time now to the point where people are starting to question my sexuality ;-)

I'm liking it - it depends on who the site is for... did you say? Too lazy to go back and look but yes, if it is to display design work or anything artistic, something a bit more subtle might be better... but then, my new site will be pink (like my blog banner) so I can't really talk!

I love the pink (but again, I am in a pink phase - for the last decade or so) and I think it's great to embrace the different use of colour. Especially if you are going to show it to prospective clients, it's always good to have a point of difference (Let's go back to that pink one again, they'll say).
It looks like pink is popular (so happy, loving pink at the moment) but it's agreed that artwork is best seen against a neutral background. So I'm going to play around with different ideas, perhaps bringing the main colour back to grey, but with pink highlights. Or a more subdued pink/grey colour scheme. Or maybe just grey in the content area. I'll see what I come up with!

Thanks for your feedback, everyone! I shall post new iterations of the design by next week.
