God. I'm. Bored
This working from home thing sucks entirely. I wasted most of the morning procrastinating, and now that I'm actually doing homework all I can think about are all the fun games on my computer that I could be playing instead. It doesn't help that I'm currently going through the contents of ten years of academic journals on museums trying to track trends in internet usage. Not the most exciting task I've ever done. Doing the dishes is looking like a fabulous alternative to the task at hand, which shows how bloody bored I must be.
Hey, did you know if you search for an 'elephant' on Ebay you mostly come up with teapots and cushions? No elephants, oddly enough. It seems they won't even sell budgies over the internet. Oh, and did I mention I'm bored?
It wouldn't be so bad at uni. Thanks to my self-imposed ban on any site that is even vaguely amusing, and my newfound abilities in time-management via post-its all over my computer, I tend to stay on track there. Another benefit is that I don't have games on that computer. And people can see what I have on screen and can tell if I'm slacking off. Peer pressure is a powerful motivator. I hope the re-imaging works so that I can go back to the research room tomorrow.
On the upside - it's 3.00 pm and I'm still in my PJs. Some would call that lazy. I choose to call it decadent.
